Most creators copy a link from the Share button in the YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok app. Those share links are often shortened or wrapped in tracking parameters, which is why a link that opens fine on your phone can confuse other tools. Knowing what a good link looks like saves time when you build a storefront.
Short links are fine to paste
Share links such as vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com, instagr.am, and youtu.be point to a full video page. Tapixy follows them on the server, keeps only the canonical video address, and drops tracking parameters like si= or igsh=. You can even paste the whole share message, emojis and all; the first video link in it is the one that counts.
Share the video, not the profile
A link to a profile, a search result, or a sound page does not identify a single video, so it cannot become a look. Open the specific post, tap Share, then Copy link. On Instagram, use the Reel itself rather than a photo post; on TikTok, photo carousels cannot be imported.
When a link will not open
Share links can expire, and private or deleted videos cannot be read by anyone outside your account. If a link is rejected, open the video in the app, confirm it is public, and copy a fresh link. Keeping a note of the original post date helps you find the right clip when an older link stops working.
